Our eight-day Dances, Dragons and Magical Lakes cruise will take you on a journey of discovery between Bali and the Komodo National Park and the many diverse volcanic islands in between, highlighting the cultures, wildlife and natural beauty of this most diverse part of Indonesia. Explore the spiritual pageantry of Bali, watch the colourful yet violent caci whip dance of the Manggarai, visit a Lombok village where Sasak women rule the roost, swim in a jungle waterfall, make a wish on a magic tree beside a volcanic lake, paddle board and swim in the gin-clear waters of deserted tropical islands, go ashore on an active volcano, snorkel each day on kaleidoscopic coral reefs, marvel at the daily sunset and sunrise, have close encounters with enormous Komodo Dragons. Or simply laze on then deck in a sunbed with a cold drink in hand and watch the world go by, it’s all yours for the asking.

Note: The price of this cruise does not include any domestic airfares to and from our start and end points, however, our reservations specialists in Bali are more than happy to help arrange domestic flights on your behalf and advise on scheduling. We book hundreds of flights each year on behalf of our guests and we know the best routes to take to ensure you arrive on time. We only book with IATA-approved airlines that have met with international standards of safety and dependability. Except for Bali, transfers to and from local airports to the boat are also included. If you are booking flights by yourself, do not book any flights before checking with us first. Our first and last day programmes rely on strict time scheduling, so please confirm with us to ensure that you arrive and depart at your destination with plenty of time to spare and to avoid disruption to other guests' schedules.

All of our Dances, Dragons & Magical Lakes departures between April 1st and June 30th have an optional add-on package that involves a jungle river cruise to see orangutans in their natural jungle surroundings, and an opportunity to marvel at the strange-looking, big-nosed proboscis monkeys that line the river, spot amazing birdlife swooping low over the river and singing high in the canopy, and visit and experience the fascinating culture of the famed Dayak people of the rainforest - all from the comfort and ease of an air-conditioned riverboat. The itinerary can be seen here in the first part of the Orangutans and Dragons itinerary - simply click on the link and see what you and your whole family could be experiencing. This truly is an opportunity to excite all the senses and to tick so many boxes - not least the double bill of being able to see the mighty Komodo dragon and the man of the forest, the orangutan all in one trip. If you would like to add this to your trip, please contact us and let us know your dates so we can arrange it for you.
